Mountain View’s Riley McCarthy is the Week 2 high school football player of the week.
McCarthy received 667 of the 2,152 votes cast this week.
The senior passed for 186 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 121 yards in a win over Kelso.
Winners of the player-of-the-week may not be nominated again this season.
The other nominees were:
- JONATHAN LANDRY, EVERGREEN: The sophomore caught three passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns and intercepted two passes in the Plainsmen’s win over Prairie.
- BAILEY MEEK, RIDGEFIELD: The senior had a blocked punt, fumble recovery and a sack in leading Ridgefield in a shutout win over Washougal.
- AIDEN MILLER, HERITAGE: The sophomore safety had four tackles and one interception, returning it 48 yards in the Timberwolves’ shutout win over Battle Ground.
- ANDRE NORTHRUP, HOCKINSON: The junior returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown and an interception 28 yards for a touchdown and caught five passes for 45 yards in a win over Woodland.
