Check It Out: Gardening books great for any season

If you love looking at gardening books, spring and summer are the right time of year to indulge your pleasure. I’ve been keeping an eye on new gardening titles coming into the collection, and I thought I would share a list of recently published titles.

There are great books for any season, but the warmer seasons offer ample opportunity for titles filled with Mother Nature’s colorful palette and wide array of textures. From the velvety softness of pansies to the prodigiously prickliness of blackberry vines, Mother Nature has it all going on while the sun turns its high beams onto the Northern Hemisphere.

Keep checking the library’s catalog as new titles are being added all the time. Whether you’re tending a newly planted garden or planning for next summer, there are plenty of gardening books to fill your head — and eyes — with ideas.

Go forth and blossom!

  • “The Beginner’s Guide to Growing Great Vegetables” by Lorene Edwards Forkner (also available in eBook format)
  • “Fearless Gardening: Be Bold, Break the Rules, and Grow What You Love” by Loree Bohl (also available in eBook format)

  • “Growveg: The Beginner’s Guide to Easy Vegetable Gardening” by Benedict Vanheems (also available in eBook format)
