Fresh off clinching the 3A Greater St. Helens League regular-season title a few days, the Mountain View girls tennis team wasn’t done yet.

And it went all the way down to a super-tiebreaker of the No. 3 doubles to decide it.

Mountain View and Prairie split their six matches of in the 3A team final and the victory went to the Thunder 7-6 on sets won tiebreaker.

“This was the culmination of a Mountain View team that did a great job maximizing who they were and really playing for each other,” Thunder coach Mat Clark said. “The fact that they not only claimed the 3A league title a few days ago and now get to add a district title to it is just a testament to them.”

The three singles matches and first two doubles matches were won in straight sets. Mountain View won two of the three singles, while Prairie won two of the three doubles.

The decider came at No. 3 doubles where Prairie’s Hollyn Anderson and Aliyah Dodge beat Mountain View’s Kennedy Daron and Faith Reive 6-0, 2-6, 10-8 to create the tie score.

However, because Daron and Reive won the second set, that was the difference in the overall tiebreaker, giving another title to Mountain View.
