UPDATE: The Vancouver Police Department reported that Mark Thomas Meyer has been located and is safe.

Vancouver police are seeking the public’s assistance locating a 68-year-old Vancouver man with dementia who went missing Wednesday afternoon.

Mark Thomas Meyer was last seen leaving his home in the 1100 block of Northwest 41st Street in west Vancouver heading to an unknown location, according to a bulletin from the Vancouver Police Department. He is described as a white man, 5-feet, 11-inches tall, 140 pounds with grey hair, blue eyes and a mustache.

Meyer was last seen wearing white athletic shorts and a navy blue T-shirt.

Family members told police Meyers is suffering from dementia and has had three strokes.

“Though he would respond to his name if contacted, family is concerned he would walk into traffic or become easily disoriented,” the bulletin said.

Anyone who sees a man matching this description is asked to call 911.
