ORCHARDS — A ground-breaking ceremony was held July 13 by the Vancouver Fire Department and Clark County Fire District 5 to celebrate the start of construction on Fire Station 11, to be located at 9606 N.E. 130th Ave.

“The Fire Station 11 ground-breaking marks an important milestone in bringing the collaborative vision of the city and its partners at Clark County Fire District 5 to fruition in fall 2022,” Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle said in a news release. “This new station will improve our public safety infrastructure and emergency response for more than a quarter of a million residents currently served by the Vancouver Fire Department.”

Others who offered remarks at the ceremony included Clark County Fire District 5 Commissioner Mike Lyons and Vancouver Fire Chief Brennan Blue.

The new station will occupy 15,000 square feet and will be operated by the Vancouver Fire Department, which also provides service to District 5. View a recording of the ceremony or learn more about the new station at www.cityofvancouver.us/Station11.
