VAN MALL — Volunteers for the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life of Clark County held a Party in the Parking Lot Tailgate event at Vancouver Mall on July 17 to help raise funds for cancer research and patient services. So far, the group has raised $54,000 for the American Cancer Society.

After having to do online fundraisers last year due to COVID-19, the group was looking forward to an in-person event. “We were excited to partner with the Vancouver Mall,” event co-lead Lisa Houser said in a news release. “The space was perfect for our Party in the Parking Lot and (we had) the opportunity to tailgate together and see each other face to face for the first time in almost two years.”

The Hope Car Parade celebrated community cancer survivors, who were welcomed with cheering and cowbells.

The Relay for Life of Clark County is ongoing, with an online auction from Aug. 19-22. View the auction at https://www.32auctions.com/2021HopefromHome. Find out more about the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life of Clark County at www.clarkcountyrelay.org.
