The Vancouver Police Department is seeking the public’s help in a hit-and-run investigation involving a pedestrian Tuesday in downtown Vancouver.

The pedestrian was struck between 11 p.m. and midnight by a vehicle traveling north in the 600 block of Main Street. The vehicle did not stop, according to a police department news release.

Several people helped the pedestrian after the crash, but no one called 911, police said. The pedestrian later went to a hospital, where it was determined they suffered serious injuries. Police were subsequently contacted, the news release states.

The police department’s traffic unit is investigating and asking anyone who helped the pedestrian or saw the crash or vehicle to contact Officer Sean Donaldson at 360-487-7479.
