HAZEL DELL — A summer program focused on gardening for children has resumed at the Boys & Girls Club.
Washington State University Master Gardeners work with students from area Boys & Girls Clubs to learn about various garden tasks at the community garden on the school’s grounds. At the first session, students learned from the Master Gardeners’ Discovery Team about parts of plants that can be eaten. They also helped maintain the school’s community garden by weeding and spreading bark around garden plants.
WSU Master Gardeners will continue to lead the program at the Hazel Dell School and Community Garden for Boy & Girls Clubs members on Wednesday mornings through Aug. 4. For more information, visit https://mybgc.org.
