Walk through history
The Fort Vancouver National Historic Site is offering free walking tours of the Vancouver Barracks from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Tours are limited to 20 participants ages 10 and up. It takes a village
Enjoy a live concert featuring the award-winning musicians of Three Together and Inversion from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Barberton Grange, 9400 N.E. 72nd Ave., Vancouver. Admission is free but donations will support Villages Clark County, a nonprofit organization that helps the aging stay in their own homes. Unvaccinated guests should wear masks. A bounty of books
Friends of the Battle Ground Community Library will host the Harvest Days Mini Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 1207 S.E. Eighth Way, Battle Ground. Paperbacks are 50 cents and hardcovers are $1. From 3 to 5 p.m., a whole bag of books is only $1. The sale also includes DVDs, videos and high-quality art books. For details, call 360-906-5000.
Play with ink
Vancouver Art Space at Vancouver Mall is offering a make-and-take workshop from 1-3 p.m. Saturday featuring alcohol inks — waterproof inks that dry permanently on ceramic and glass surfaces. Students will learn how to use alcohol inks on tile, creating a set of four 4-by-4-inch tile coasters, two 6-by-6-inch plaques or animal figurines. The cost is $48 per person, including supplies.
