A woman originally thought to have been fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver on Interstate 5 on Friday had actually jumped off the 33rd Street overpass and then was struck by a vehicle, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. near Milepost 2. All vehicles involved have now been accounted for, the State Patrol reported.

The woman was 51 and from Vancouver. She died at the scene. The Columbian is withholding her name due to the manner of her death.
