Typical summer weather continues with highs close to seasonal normals and some morning clouds thrown in to help keep hot temperatures at bay. Wednesday we will see the morning clouds lingering past noon, most likely, so highs will be lower, 78 to 82 degrees. It may struggle to reach 80 degrees Wednesday and possibly Thursday. So, I will use partly sunny, mostly sunny, partly cloudy, well you get the picture.
After that it appears to be a little warmer Friday through the weekend with highs 85 to 90 degrees. Quite pleasant I would say. Still no rain is expected for a long while, only the usual coastal mist and drizzle there.
Normally skies are clear from dusk to dawn in July, but we have a persistent marine layer along the coast that tends to creep inland overnight. That is more typical of June. On the flip side, the hot weather in June was more typical of July although not those crazy 100-degree plus readings we endured.
More thunderstorms were expected to travel northward into Eastern Oregon, which is always bad news this time of the year. There are several wildfires ongoing there at the present time. I didn’t see any wildfires in Washington when writing this column. Keeping my fingers crossed. It is so early in the fire season, and it remains dry. Tinder dry.
