Mistake-filled third inning helps Corvallis beat Ridgefield Raptors 5-2

Ridgefield outhit Corvallis 9-3 but the Knights scored four runs in the third inning to wrap up the first-half title in South Division of the West Coast League. The Raptors needed to sweep this three-game weekend series to win the first-half title.

KEY MOMENTS: The Knights scored four runs on just one hit in the third. Corvallis scored twice on wild pitches, once on a bases-loaded hit batter and once on an error.

KEY PLAYERS: John Peck went 3 for 5 with a double and a run scored for the Raptors. Carson Walter came on in relief of starting pitcher Ryan Harvery and threw 4.1 scoreless/hitless innings, striking out five Crovallis batters.

NEXT GAME: Ridgefield (13-9) at Corvallis (16-6), 7:15 p.m. today.
