A block of East Mill Plain Boulevard in downtown Vancouver will be closed the weekend of July 10 while crews reconstruct two intersections to improve freight mobility, according to a press release from the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The closure will begin at 10 p.m. July 9 and will extend from Washington to Main streets, including the two intersections.
The road is scheduled to reopen no later than 4 a.m. July 12. Drivers will need to detour around the closure in the interim.
The work is part of a larger overall project aimed at improving the Mill Plain corridor through downtown Vancouver to allow large freight trucks to more easily travel from the Port of Vancouver to Interstate 5.
