‘Everybody Has a Story’ seeks proposal tales

The Columbian
Published: January 31, 2021, 6:00am

The riskiest, yet most potentially rewarding, phrase in the world must be: “Will you marry me?”

For a special Valentine’s Day edition of “Everybody Has a Story,” we’re looking for stories of popping the question. Got a great tale to tell about how it went for you, when you handed over your heart on a silver platter?

In order to squeeze in as many marriage proposal stories as possible, we’re going to halve the usual “Everybody” word limit to 500 words, maximum. The other rules remain the same: Your tale must be first-person and true.

The deadline is coming right up. We must receive your story by email (recommended) or snail mail no later than Feb. 7. That’s one week from today.

Send to: neighbors@columbian.com or P.O. Box 180, Vancouver WA 98666. Please include your neighborhood and contact information.
