SW Washington State Educators United, a grassroots group of local educators, plans to hold a car rally to “Support Safe Schools For Everyone” and memorial for educators and students lost to COVID-19 today.

The 90-minute event begins at 10:30 a.m. at Clark County Public Health, followed by driving to the district offices of the county’s two largest school districts, Vancouver and Evergreen. A memorial will be placed at the district offices to honor educators and students lost to COVID-19 nationwide.

The group is calling for vaccines for educators before returning to in-person learning, accountability and transparency on reopening plans, funding investments to reopen school buildings, and further investment in remote learning.

A livestream of the event can be found on the Facebook group, “Support Safe Schools For Everyone.”
