A new Grocery Outlet opened in Orchards on Thursday, adding to the list of two others in Vancouver.

The new store, at 11808 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd., will bring 30 new jobs to Vancouver, according to a news release from Grocery Outlet. It sells discounted, overstocked and closeout, name-brand and private-label products, according to the company’s website. Grocery Outlet, based in Emeryville, Calif., has more than 350 stores in the United States.

The new Orchards store’s independent owner-operators Carlos Rodriguez Vega and Kenneth Cole also own one other Grocery Outlet in Vancouver.

The building formerly housed the Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center that closed in 2019.

As part of the grand opening, customers may enter for a chance to win $1,000 in groceries now through Feb. 11. To enter, customers may access the online contest at groceryoutlet.com/win-groceries-orchards.
