OLYMPIA — Gov. Jay Inslee on Tuesday announced a regional economic reopening plan, with some COVID-19 restrictions on entertainment and individual fitness training being eased next week, but prohibitions on indoor dining at restaurants and indoor gyms remaining.

The new guidelines, which will go into effect Monday, will require regions to meet four metrics in order to move to the next phase, at which point restaurants and indoor fitness centers can open indoor dining at 25 percent capacity, sports competitions can resume with limited spectators, and wedding and funeral ceremonies can increase their number of guests.

Jessica Sanchez has been around Tonallis Doughnuts & Cream since she was 7, but her co-workers and manager told her from the beginning that she couldn’t be a baker because she was a woman.

“They said that it was a heavy job,” she said. “A lot of lifting and heavy work.”

Herrera Beutler: Reports of chaos were not exaggerated

I was on the House floor as the protesters overran police and pounded on the doors. The Capitol Police barricaded us in. We were told to get down and to get our gas masks. Eventually, we were ushered out. Capitol police who were escorting me told me they had found and detonated four bombs just off the Capitol campus. I am currently safe and sheltered in place. We are locked down because the Capitol is not secure.
