Clark County reports 40 new COVID-19 cases, no new deaths on Thursday

Clark County reported 40 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday and no new deaths, according to Clark County Public Health.

The new cases push the county’s total to 18,212 cases. There have been an average of 37.5 new cases a day since Friday, up slightly from last week’s average of 36 cases per day and below the previous week’s average of about 40 cases per day, according to Public Health data.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 held steady at 222 on Thursday. There have been three deaths reported since Friday. There were seven deaths reported last week and 10 the week before, according to Public Health data.

The number of active cases rose slightly to 263 on Thursday, up from 253 on Wednesday. Active cases are people with COVID-19 who are still in their isolation period and could still be contagious.

Hospitalizations fell slightly, with 27 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Clark County on Thursday, down from 29 on Wednesday. There were seven people hospitalized awaiting test results, up from four on Wednesday, according to Public Health data.

The percent of occupied licensed ICU beds in Clark County rose to 84.4 percent on Thursday, up from 78.1 percent on Wednesday.
