MINNEHAHA — Several businesses around the Vancouver area put up “Giving Trees” over the holidays to help bring in donations, including supplies, for Furry Friends, a local nonprofit, no-kill cat shelter. Businesses that helped included Cats Play While You’re Away Boarding, Jared the Cat Groomer, Mud Bay and Tiny’s Place Cat Boarding, all in Vancouver, and DHL in Portland. Mud Bay donated three boxes of cat food, toys and other items, as well as a check for $289.85 and a gift certificate worth $459 to spend at its store. “We appreciate all the businesses that took their time to help support the kitties of Furry Friends. The items help us to care for the kitties that we rescue,” a newsletter read.
