CLARK COUNTY — Students from King’s Way Christian School and Pacific Middle School were among some of the top winners of DiscoverE’s Future City Competition, a nonprofit educational program that asks middle-school students to imagine, design and build “cities of the future.” This year, 23 teams in Washington were tasked to create future cities on the moon, presenting to judges. Team Kaskazini of Pacific Middle School placed third overall. Four teams from King’s Way Christian School won regional awards, including team Galactic Giraffes, which won Best Overall Score for the First-Year School; Space Cadets won for Best Lunar Health Maintenance Features; the Lunar E-Clique won Best Use of Scale; and The Space Monkeys won Most Innovative Moving Part. Students were honored at a virtual awards ceremony on Jan. 30.
