Clark County reports 41 new COVID-19 cases, no new deaths on Thursday

Clark County recorded 41 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths Thursday, as a drop-off in disease activity continues.

The new cases pushed Clark County’s total to 17,950 to date, according to data from Clark County Public Health. There has been an average of about 36 new cases a day since Friday, down from an average of about 48 cases a day last week and well below a peak of about 180 per day in the week ending Jan. 8.

No deaths have been reported by Public Health since Tuesday. A total of 213 COVID-19 deaths have been reported since the pandemic began last year. Ten deaths were reported last week.

There were 258 active COVID-19 cases as of Thursday, up from 255 on Wednesday, according to Public Health data.

Hospitalizations were mostly stable, with 37 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Clark County, up from 36 on Wednesday, and three people hospitalized awaiting test results, down from six on Wednesday.

As of Thursday, 78.1 percent of the county’s licensed ICU beds were occupied, down from 82.8 percent Wednesday, according to Public Health data.

As of Monday, 7.32 percent of Clark County’s population has received their first dose of vaccine, according to data from the Washington State Department of Health, with 2.56 percent of the population fully vaccinated. The state reported that 39,252 vaccine doses have been administered in Clark County.
