Three people were displaced by a house fire Tuesday night in Vancouver’s Parkway East neighborhood.

Vancouver Fire Department crews were dispatched at 6:55 p.m. to the 3300 block of Northeast 157th Avenue for a report of a residential structure fire.

The first engine arrived within 90 seconds due to the home’s proximity to Station 10, firefighter and spokesman Joe Hudson said.

However, a fire that originated at the back of the single-story house had already spread to the attic. One crew pulled a water line to the back of the home, and then another crew went inside and extinguished the fire in the attic, Hudson said.

The fire was under control in about 15 minutes.

Three occupants safely escaped; there were no reported injuries. The Red Cross was called in to assist them.
