Clark County recorded 32 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday and no new deaths as the decline from a post-holiday surge continues.
The new cases push Clark County’s total number of COVID-19 cases to 17,909, according to data from Clark County Public Health. The data showed an average of about 35 new cases a day since Friday, down from an average of about 48 cases per day the week before.
The rate of new cases has been falling since early January, when the county averaged about 180 new cases a day. The decline is reflected in new data on COVID-19, which showed 612 positive tests out of 7,658 tests during the week of Jan. 24-30, for a positivity rate of 7.99 percent. The positivity rate had been as high as 14.39 percent at the height of the post-holiday surge.

There were 255 active COVID-19 cases still in their isolation period on Wednesday, down from 268 on Tuesday.
