Buy a brick to honor a veteran, fund Battle Ground memorial maintenance

BATTLE GROUND — Those who would like to honor a U.S. veteran with a commemorative brick that will be installed at the Battle Ground Veterans Memorial should order their bricks by March 1 to be installed by Memorial Day. The bricks are engraved with a veteran’s name, branch and dates of service at a cost of $250. Proceeds support maintenance of the memorial, located in Battle Ground’s Kiwanis Park. The memorial was funded by donations and includes 31 engraved names of local veterans who died in service. “They are an enduring gift to honor the service of a family member or loved one,” a news release reads.
