Clark County reported 10 deaths from COVID-19 on Friday, pushing the total number to 20 over a seven-day period, according to Clark County Public Health.
The deaths were two men in their 50s, one man in his 60s, three men in their 70s, two men age 80 or older and two women age 80 or older, according to Public Health. Each had underlying conditions.
The deaths pushed Clark County’s toll from COVID-19 to 202 to date. There were 20 deaths reported since Feb. 5, up from 16 deaths reported the week before and six deaths in each of previous three weeks. Twenty of the 202 deaths from COVID-19 are still considered suspected. Those cases are counted when COVID-19 is not listed as a contributing factor on the death certificate but wasn’t ruled out as a cause of death — and the person died after testing positive for COVID-19 within 28 days of death.
Clark County Public Health had been reporting lower than expected numbers of new cases this week but cautioned that the lower numbers were caused by data processing issues with the state. Public Health said the issue had been resolved as of Friday.
