The National Weather Service in Portland has updated its forecast for Southwest Washington — as of midnight Clark County and Portland are back under a winter weather advisory.
According to NWS, the advisory, which kicks in at midnight and goes through noon Thursday, includes total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches. The heaviest accumulations will be over the West Hills in the Portland area and parts of northern and eastern Clark County.
Drivers should expect slippery road conditions.
The temperature at Pearson Airfield was 34 degrees at 4 p.m. Tonight’s low is expected to be 19.
Rain and snow, possibly mixed with freezing rain before noon is likely for Thursday morning, according to NWS, with rain in the afternoon. Highs near 38 are expected. The snow level should hit 1,500 feet in the afternoon but sink back to 500 feet overnight, with lows around 29. There is little or no ice accumulation expected, with less than an inch of snow possible.
