A cold front moved inland late Saturday and brought strong winds along the coast, heavy rain and the possibility that some sloppy wet snowflakes may have fallen to city levels.
Expect unsettled weather this week with rain almost every day and good snow in the mountains. There may be snow at times in our lower foothills. Colder weather Christmas Day and beyond, most likely.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac refers to the winter solstice (on Tuesday) like this, “ Winter inspires both joy and woe. Some people can’t wait for the cooler weather, snow, skiing, ice skating, curling up by a fire and the holiday spirit. Other people dislike the frigid temperatures, blizzards and wild weather.”
