A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder following a fatal shooting late Wednesday in north Clark County.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office said Joshua George Spellman shot a man during an argument at 43118 N.E. Cedar Mist Road.

Patrol deputies were the first to arrive to a 9:11 p.m. report of an assault with a weapon at the address and found the man inside the house with a gunshot wound to his torso, according to a sheriff’s office statement.

Medics tended to the shooting victim at the scene, but he died after being taken to a hospital, the statement said.

The victim’s name was not released, but the statement said the two men knew each other.

Spellman was taken into custody at the scene without incident, the statement said.

He is scheduled to make a first appearance on the allegation Friday in Clark County Superior Court.

The case is being investigated by the sheriff’s office Major Crimes Unit. The office’s Tactical Detective Unit also responded to investigate.
