Charter amendment statements needed

The Clark County Charter Review Commission is seeking individuals to write statements against six proposed amendments to appear on the November 2022 ballot.

The commission voted to place the six proposed amendments on the ballot at its Dec. 8 meeting. As the legislative body placing the measures on the ballot, the commission appoints a committee to write a supporting statement and another committee to write an opposing statement.

While committees have been appointed to write statements supporting the measures, the commission has been unable to identify people to write statements against the measures. Statements from both committees will appear in the voters’ pamphlet produced by the county Auditor’s Office.

Details about the resolutions can be found at https://clark.wa.gov/county-manager/meetings-agendas-archives; follow the link to the Dec. 8 meeting.

Any Clark County resident wanting to be appointed to any of the “statement against” committees should contact Kristin Davidson, County Manager’s Office, at Kristin.davidson@clark.wa.gov or by phone at 564-397-4167.

The deadline is 3 p.m. Dec. 27.
