The Cowlitz Tribal Foundation Clark County Fund awarded a $60,000 grant Thursday to Pink Lemonade Project, a nonprofit that supports breast cancer patients during and after treatment.

The fund was established in 2019 and is one of the largest funders of Clark County nonprofits.

“We are grateful for the extraordinary generosity of the Cowlitz Tribal Foundation for this two-year grant to support women and men with breast cancer who have additional financial needs during treatment and recovery,” said Susan Stearns, Pink Lemonade Project chief executive officer. “This support goes directly into the hands of breast cancer patients and helps ease some stress. Both patients and our local health care partners alike appreciate this responsive program that helps with items not covered by health insurance.”

The grant will go toward the nonprofit’s Pink Practicalities program, which supports patients with urgent needs across Southwest Washington.
