Fishing report for the week of Aug. 22

Fishing reports for waters in southwest Washington, including the Columbia River and tributaries as reported to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife on Aug. 24.

Always check the WDFW website at wdfw.wa.gov/fishing for the latest fishing rules and regulations as seasons can change or close quickly if necessary.

Updates

Drano Lake — Effective through Oct. 31, bank fishing only between a line projected through shoreline markers (located on north and west shores) approximately 2,000 feet downstream of the Little White Salmon National Fish Hatchery, upstream to the deadline markers at the mouth of the Little White Salmon River immediately below the fish hatchery. Fishing from any floating device prohibited. Only hand-cast lines may be used.

Salmon/Steelhead

Bonneville — Seven bank anglers kept one Chinook; one boat/one rod had no catch.

Camas/Washougal — 17 boats/32 rods kept four Chinook.

Interstate-5 area — Six bank anglers released two steelhead; one boat/two rods kept one Chinook.

Vancouver — 72 bank anglers kept five Chinook; 34 boats/62 rods kept six Chinook, one coho, three jacks and released two steelhead.

Woodland — 79 bank anglers kept four Chinook; 16 boats/30 rods kept six Chinook.

Kalama — 217 bank anglers kept 35 Chinook and released one coho; 48 boats/125 rods kept 14 Chinook and released one Chinook.

Cowlitz — 66 boats/177 rods kept 34 Chinook, two jacks and released one Chinook and one coho.

Longview — 50 bank anglers kept one Chinook and released three steelhead; 62 boats/145 rods kept 19 Chinook and one coho.

Cathlamet (Sec. 9) — Two bank anglers had no catch; two boats/four rods had no catch.

Cathlamet (Sec. 10) — No report.

Sturgeon

Interstate-5 area — One boat/two rods released one oversize sturgeon.

Vancouver — One boat/two rods released one legal sturgeon.

Kalama — Two boats/seven rods released five legal and one oversize sturgeon.

Longview — One boat/two rods had no catch.

Walleye

Camas/Washougal — Two boats/three rods had no catch.

Columbia River tributaries

Salmon/Steelhead

Cowlitz River from Interstate-5 Bridge downstream — No report.

Cowlitz River above the I-5 Bridge — No report.

Kalama River — No report.

Lewis River — Seven bank rods kept two steelhead; one boat/two rods kept one Chinook.

Drano Lake — 10 boats/19 rods kept five Chinook and released one Chinook and eight steelhead.

Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge — No report.

Klickitat above No. 5 Fishway — No report.
