The Friends of Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will host a Heritage Garden Party from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Fort Vancouver Heritage Garden, 1001 E. Fifth St. Meet volunteer gardeners, learn about the historical plants and purchase seeds. Dandelion Teahouse and Apothecary is hosting a block party from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday in downtown Vancouver. The street will be closed to traffic at 109 W. Seventh St. for everyone to enjoy live music, food from Six Shooter Bar, tea, tarot readings and a doggy fashion show at 5 p.m. Admission is free. Light it up
The ReLit Upcycled Lighting Festival features lamps made from blenders, percolators, juicers and other household items unable to be fixed by Repair Clark County volunteers. Lamps will be displayed in downtown Vancouver business windows until Sept. 3 and then at Columbia Springs, 12208 S.E. Evergreen Highway, Vancouver, until Sept. 10. Walk the walk
Fort Vancouver National Historic Site invites visitors ages 10 and up to learn about 1880s history during a free walking tour of the Vancouver Barracks led by Curator Meagan Huff at 9:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday, meeting at the Hathaway Parking Lot at the intersection of Hathaway Road and Fort Vancouver Way.
