Brush Prairie woman killed in Highway 502 crash

41-year-old's vehicle left road, struck pole just after midnight Sunday

A 41-year-old Brush Prairie woman was killed in a single-car crash shortly after midnight Sunday.

Meloni A. Monstad was traveling east on state Highway 502. Her 2006 Audi A4 left the roadway to the right and struck a pole at 12:16 a.m., according the the Washington State Patrol.

Monstad, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead later Sunday morning.

The crash happened near the intersection with 29th Avenue, roughly three miles east of Interstate 5 and west of Dollars Corner.

The crash’s cause remains under investigation by the WSP.
