Julie Bocanegra has announced her candidacy for reelection to the Evergreen Public Schools’ Board of Directors.

Bocanegra is seeking her third term on the board of the state’s sixth-largest school district. She was appointed to Position 1 in February 2012 and reelected in 2013 and 2017.

“We continue to find ways that engage students and help them become career/college ready,” Bocanegra, a branch manager for Columbia Credit Union, said in a statement. “I believe that building strong communities is the direct result of supporting public schools. My commitment is to see our current Bond project to completion. Envision Evergreen is transforming the whole district that will benefit generations of students and our communities for years to come.”

In 2020, Bocanegra was selected to serve as a member of the Washington State School Directors Association Board.
