Fire damaged an adult care home in Vancouver’s Marrion neighborhood late Monday afternoon, according to emergency radio traffic.

The fire was reported at 4:23 p.m. in the 9700 block of Northeast Third Street. Crews from the Vancouver Fire Department arrived to find that flames from burning arborvitae bushes on fire had spread to a house that was being used as an adult care home.

Residents were evacuated  and a C-Tran vehicle brought in to provide refuge for some of the elderly residents as crews fought the fire, which has spread to the attic.

No injuries were reported.
