A 47-year-old man was killed Friday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a car in Hazel Dell.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office identified the man Saturday morning as Giovanni Abarza of Milwaukie, Ore.
On Friday, deputies and emergency medical personnel responded at 1 p.m. to the 8100 block of Northeast 25th Avenue for a crash involving a motorcycle and a 2010 Nissan Altima, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
Medics attempted to resuscitate the motorcyclist, who was lying in the road unresponsive, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Nissan’s driver, identified as 18-year-old Faith Taylor of Battle Ground, was uninjured.
Initial interviews and evidence at the scene indicate the Nissan was traveling north on 25th Avenue and made a left turn onto Northeast 81st Street. The motorcycle, which was traveling south on 25th Avenue, struck the Nissan’s right, rear quarter panel, the sheriff’s office said.
Taylor stayed at the scene and was cooperative with investigators, the news release states.
The sheriff’s office traffic unit is continuing to investigate. No charges have been filed in the crash.
Northeast 25th Avenue between Northeast 80th and 86th streets was closed for about 4½ hours during the investigation.
