FISH Westside Food Pantry of Vancouver is extending its Wednesday evening drive-thru food distribution another week due to the impact of surrounding wildfires.
For the last several months of the COVID-19 pandemic, the pantry at 906 Harney St., has modified its procedures for safety and increased its service hours. More recently, that included a curbside food box delivery from 5 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday. By mid-August the pantry was serving 70 to 85 families during the Wednesday evening service. It was going to end on Sept. 16, but the pantry decided to hold it another week to help those in need.
Beginning Oct. 3, FISH will reopen from 10 a.m. to noon on the first Saturday of each month. For more information about the food pantry and its hours, visit fishvancouver.org.
