Vancouver-based fast food chain Burgerville announced Thursday that it has reopened 39 of its 42 locations for drive-thru service.
The company announced earlier in the week that it would temporarily close all of its restaurants except at the Portland International Airport due to poor air quality caused by wildfire smoke.
Air quality in the Portland area remained at “very unhealthy” levels Thursday, according to data from the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, but was forecasted to begin to improve following rain overnight and on Friday.
Burgerville restaurants are located throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington, and most of them have switched to drive-thru and delivery-only service during the COVID-19 pandemic. The airport and two other locations had to close because they lacked drive-thru lanes, although the airport location reopened earlier this month.
