A collision blocking the left lane of Interstate 5 northbound has traffic backed up from Milepost 15, between Ridgefield and La Center, south to the Salmon Creek interchange.

According to Washington State Department of Transportation, the crash happened about 3:14 p.m. Friday.  No other details were available about the crash. The collision cleared about 4 p.m. but slow traffic continued to spread out to side roads.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn tweeted that traffic is backed up for miles approaching La Center.

Traffic was also slow southbound on I-5 approaching the area of the crash. Some of that backup, which reaches into Cowlitz County, may be left over from earlier police activity near Exit 21 around 2 p.m.
