Nearly one mile of Northeast 72nd Avenue will close for at least three weeks beginning next week.
The road between Northeast 159th and Northeast 172nd streets will close beginning Tuesday, according to a Clark County Public Works news release. A crew will perform emergency repair work on a section of failing storm pipe under the road.
A public works maintenance crew found a small sink hole under the roadway shoulder in late August, according to the news release. An inspection found about 700 feet of failing storm pipe.
The pipe replacement and road repaving should take between three and four weeks but could take longer depending on weather, according to the county. Those who don’t live or work in the area can use Northeast 50th Avenue as a detour, and signs will redirect traffic.
