A pedestrian was killed Wednesday evening in a hit-and-run crash in Vancouver.

Vancouver police were called at 6:42 p.m. to East Mill Plain and Grand boulevards.

Upon arrival, they found a pedestrian down and the suspect vehicle gone. The pedestrian did not survive, according to a police department news release.

Based on a photo taken at the scene, officers began looking for a silver or light tan GMC Envoy SUV, believed to have damage to the right front, police said.

The police department said Thursday that officers located the vehicle but did not say whether a suspect had been identified. The department thanked the public for calling in with information and noted more details would be released later.

Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit are investigating. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call Vancouver Police Traffic Officer Block at 360-869-6800.
