Battle Ground police going online for concealed permits

The Battle Ground Police Department has set up a new online service for city residents applying for new or renewed concealed pistol licenses.

The police department was required to close its building to the public due to COVID-19, which made applications and required fingerprinting for new applicants temporarily unavailable, according to a City of Battle Ground news release.

Now, applicants for a new concealed pistol license may apply, pay fees and schedule an appointment for fingerprinting at the police department online. Fingerprinting by scheduled appointment reduces COVID-19 health risks, the city said.

Renewal applicants may use the same online service, making the application and payment process more streamlined.

The services, which are restricted to people who live within the Battle Ground city limits, are available at www.cityofbg.org/560/Concealed-Pistol-Licensing. Clark County residents who live outside of Battle Ground can apply for licenses through the sheriff’s office.

Police department staff are available at 360-342-5200 or online to answer questions regarding residency or concealed pistol license applications.
