Aaron Degodny was hired as vice president and chief commercial officer at Tidewater Transportation and Terminals. He will oversee business development, sales and marketing, public relations and media, among other responsibilities. Prior to joining Tidewater, Degodny was the president and chief operating officer at Rand Logistics. He also spent 20 years at the Canadian National Railway. Degodny, a Chicago native, is a graduate of Iowa State University. Tidewater, the “largest barge transportation and terminal network on the Columbia-Snake River system,” according to a news release, is located at 6305 N.W. Old Lower River Road. Dan Sperring was hired as the senior vice president of customer success at Vancouver-based event management tech company Hubb. Sam Madrid was promoted to chief operating officer at Corwin Beverage Company, a local distributor of food, coffee, beer, wine and other beverages. Madrid will continue in his role as general manager of the company’s alcohol divisions, Browar Polska and Kendall’s. Madrid joined Corwin in 2019 to manage the integration of Seattle-based Browar Polska. Previously, Madrid was a director of supply chain at Pacific Foods and general manager at Brewcraft USA. Several local individuals and companies were honored at the 20th Annual Disability Employment Awareness Month Celebration, held Oct. 7. The event honored individuals and businesses for their commitment to employment and services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Honorees included: Large employer (50 or more employees) of people with developmental and intellectual disabilities: iQ Credit Union; Small employer (49 or fewer employees) of people with developmental/intellectual disabilities: Sonesta ES; Employee of the year with a developmental and intellectual disability: Chris Bergman; Dennis Campbell Outstanding Service Award for outstanding service to improving the lives of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities: Debbie Thompson; David Hanawalt Service Award for an employment specialist: April Burton. The awards event is part of celebrating October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
