VANCOUVER — The Vancouver branch of the NAACP raised $37,721 during its Give More 24! campaign. Give More 24! was a day of giving for nonprofits across Southwest Washington on Sept. 24. Headquartered in Baltimore, Md., NAACP is the nation’s oldest civil rights organization that “exists to secure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination,” according to its website: naacpvancouverwa.org. “The funds are critical because they go to support our Legal Redress Committee that manages complaints of racial discrimination in Southwest Washington,” said Bridgette Fahnbulleh, president of the Vancouver branch.
