Meals on Wheels People raises more than $500K

CLARK COUNTY — Meals on Wheels People recently raised $502,025 during its virtual 50th Anniversary Gala on Sept. 24. The Portland-based nonprofit serves 8,000 meals five days a week to the greater Portland area, including in Clark County. More than 560 people turned in for the gala, where Mistress of Ceremonies Poison Waters took viewers down a red carpet. They were also entertained by the Precision Ladle Drill team, which “danced through the decades.” CEO Suzanne Washington and Board President Sarah Joannides gave remarks.
