MEDFORD, Ore. — The Oregon Health Authority expanded its guidance on face coverings Monday, requiring people to now wear masks “in all private and public workplaces including classrooms, offices, meeting rooms and workspaces, unless someone is alone in an office or in a private workspace,” according to a news release from OHA.
Face coverings are also required in outdoor and indoor markets, street fairs, private career schools and public and private colleges and universities.
The state reported eight more deaths from the illness Monday, and it removed from the tally one previously reported COVID-19 death, a 73-year-old woman from Washington County.
“COVID-19 disease … is no longer considered as a cause or as a significant condition that contributed to her death,” OHA said.
Oregon has now seen 627 deaths from the disease. OHA also reported 266 new cases statewide Monday, bringing the state total to 39,794 cases.
