MINNEHAHA — The no-kill cat shelter Furry Friends raised $62,000 during its annual auction, this year in the theme of “Hairy Pawter.” The virtual fundraiser was held from Sept. 12 to 19 and will help care for homeless and neglected cats. “We are so grateful for the generosity of our friends and donors,” said Diane Stevens, Furry Friends marketing director. The online event replaced the usual in-person dinner and auction. “We were not sure how we would do with an online event, but it turned out just fine,” Stevens said. The auction is the nonprofit’s biggest fundraiser of the year and accounts for one-fourth of its operating budget.
