Pumpkins are popping out all over, and pumpkin patches across Clark County are open and offering a panoply of activities modified with COVID-19 safety in mind. Here are five local favorites with brief descriptions of what to expect at each location. No matter where you go, potential pumpkin pickers should be prepared to mask up, sanitize their hands frequently and maintain a distance of 6 feet from others wherever possible.
Joe’s Place Farms Pumpkin Patch, 701 N.E. 112th Ave., Vancouver. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays through Oct. 31. Admission is free and includes the pumpkin patch, corn maze and cornstalk teepee. Admission to the Fort Maze is $3. Hay rides are offered on Saturdays and Sundays for $3. The farm store will be open selling pumpkins, fall decorations, Indian corn, straw bales, decorative gourds, corn stalks, pumpkin carving supplies, seasonal produce, local honey, jams and jellies, baked goods, apple cider and fudge. Service animals are welcome but please leave pets at home. Joe’s Place Farms is smoke-free. Bi-Zi Farms Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze, 9504 N.E. 119th St., Brush Prairie. Open 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 31. General admission is $10 for ages 3 to 64, seniors age 65 and older are $8, children 2 years and younger are free. Nighttime corn maze is open 6 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 31 for $7, or free for kids 2 and under. Pumpkin Patch tickets also include same-day admission to the Nighttime Corn Maze. All tickets must be purchased in advance online for a specific time slot; latest time slots are 5 p.m. for the pumpkin patch or 9:30 p.m. for the nighttime corn maze. Paid tickets include one free pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, any size you can carry; wagon ride to and from the pumpkin patch; farm animals; corn maze; two shots on the pumpkin launcher; corn shelling and grinding demonstration; and apple cider samples. Pomeroy Farms Drive-Thru Pumpkin Lane, 20902 N.E. Lucia Falls Rd, Yacolt. Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays through Oct. 31. Admission is $15 per vehicle (doesn’t include pumpkin). From the comfort and safety of your car, enjoy this farm’s beloved pumpkin-headed people posed in scenes inspired by books, movies, fairy tales and pop culture. The pumpkin patch isn’t open, but attendees are welcome to peruse and purchase goodies from the Pumpkin Market, featuring freshly picked pumpkins and edible fall treats.
