A Vancouver man and area attorney was sworn in as president of the Washington State Bar Association last month — the first person from Vancouver since the state bar’s formation in 1888.

Washington Supreme Court Chief Justice Debra Stephens administered the oath of office to Kyle Sciuchetti virtually during the association’s Board of Governors meeting Sept. 18.

Sciuchetti’s term runs through September 2021.

Sciuchetti, who has more than 20 years of legal experience, is a partner of Miller Nash Graham & Dunn LLP, serving as outside counsel for businesses throughout the Pacific Northwest. His practice is focused on construction law, business litigation, dispute resolution, lien foreclosures, and contract and lease negotiations in Washington, Oregon and Idaho, the news release states.

He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School.
