A house fire in the Roads End neighborhood was quickly extinguished Friday afternoon.

Vancouver Fire Department crews were dispatched at 1:54 p.m. to 5513 N.E. 46th St., north of state Highway 500, for a report of a single-family house fire.

First arriving engines spotted flames coming from the back side of the home and its garage, according to a Vancouver Fire Department news release.

Firefighters split their duties, attacking the fire and searching the structure to ensure everyone was out of the house, the fire department said.

A total of 21 firefighters responded to the scene, including three personnel from Clark County Fire District 6.

The fire was under control within 20 minutes. Firefighters say the home was saved as a result.

No one was injured in the fire.

One resident was displaced, and the Red Cross was called to help them. The fire’s cause is under investigation by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office.
